Shark Fest 2011 is a two day family oriented fun filled Festival and Boat Show with continuous live music and SHARK!

Saturday and Sunday June 25th & 26 this years event is hosted by Cape Harbour, Cape Coral’s Premier Yachting Community.

Admission is FREE for everyone.

Come See The SHARK! The 5th annual SHARK CHALLENGE is taking place from Cape Harbour and video of the sharks being caught and measured will be shown, as it happens, on a stadium sized screen (the SharkTron) located center stage at the Pavilion. Teams catch shark and send the video feed back until 9:30 PM on Saturday and then on Sunday The SUDDEN DEATH FINALE is shown and the winning catches revealed for all to see.

Kid Zone will feature inflatable rides and kids activities, Free Slide, Free Bounce House and Free Sharky Shows for kids of all ages. Rock Wall, Bungee Jumping, Water Bubble Walkers and a Mechanical Shark!

There is a FREE Kids Fishing Derby on Saturday, Kids twelve and under will fish from the docks behind RumRunners. The first 50 Kids get FREE fishing poles, tackle and bait. Trophies will be awarded in two age categories.

Parents and kids will enjoy the Boat Show that will feature a full range of boats from kayaks to multi Million dollar yachts on display from local boat dealers.

Dozens of craft, art and novelty vendors will be onsite with fun things for all to see and take home! You can spend a day leisurely browsing the many vendors and boats throughout the beautiful Cape Harbor Property. Have a snack from a stand, or enjoy dining in The Joint, Long Boards, RumRunners or several other dining establishments onsite.

10 AM Shark Fest 2011 Boat Show, Festival opens to the public Live Music begins. All vendor and display areas are open.

10:30 AM Sign-up opens for the Free Kids Fishing Derby

11:00 AM Shark Video action clips begin on the SharkTron and announcements of the HOURLY Raffles begin.

1:00 PM Kids Fishing Derby on the Docks behind RumRunners

5:00 PM Kid zone Closes for the Day but Shark Fest Continues on the Pavilion! Continual updates of video on the SharkTron of what’s happening in the Shark Challenge Competition!

Live Music and the party at Long Boards continues until all the teams from the Challenge return and the announcements of the Top Five teams is made at 10 PM.

Noon: an Interactive, Educational, Funny as heck Shark Show begins. Don’t miss this opportunity to share a show that kids and grandparents alike will enjoy. Admission is always Free.

When it Happens as it happens: Video feeds of the winning shark catch will be shown and the top winner will be announced in the two day shark competition. Make sure you are on hand to see the sudden death ending as it unfolds on the SharkTron.

4 PM the final hourly raffle is called and the GRAND PRIZE raffle is drawn.

4:30 PM the Awards Banquet begins in RumRunners. Charity auction, more raffles, live music and dancing all proceed the presentation of the prizes in the Are You Man Enough Shark Challenge 5. Tickets are available to for anyone to attend this event.

“Boating Lifestyle Area.” You sure do not want to miss this area. We are creating a “FORT MYERS FISHING VILLAGE”, sponsored by Nautical Mile Publications.  There will be a variety of seminars on fishing, boat safety and more.  There will be tackle displays and local guides will be on hand to answer your questions about fishing in Southwest Florida.

Check out the latest in Diving equipment and talk to local diving enthusiasts from the Caloosa Dive Club. Dive experts can give you loads of information about where to go or to help get started if you are a novice to the sport.

There will be a kayaking Section, with daily seminars (including fishing from kayaks), products displays, and information about local trails will be featured. You can throw a kayak on your boat and open up a whole new world of ways to enjoy the water.

The U.S. Coast Guard will again have their interactive Boating safety trailer displaying a variety of safety equipment and PFD’s (life jackets).
